1970年代末，中国大陆某北方乡村。 陈家这日正为仁武（马晓伟）与薛水莲（温玉娟）的新婚欢天喜地，仁武嫂子王强英（王书勤）见新婚排场及新娘子行头均强过自己当年，一面怨婆婆（王玉梅）偏心，一面吵着丈夫仁文也要水莲穿的涤纶绸裤，后又见小姑仁芳（洪学敏）也有涤纶绸裤料（仁芳男友所送），她更认准了婆婆眼里没她，吵闹着要婆婆一视同仁，婆婆无奈欲借钱买料好求媳妇定心，善心的水莲拿出自己的钱帮婆婆解围。这是强英无理取闹的第一步，其后她更做出试图拆散仁芳与男友、分家时强夺硬抢、分家后虐待爷爷（于绍康）等事，以致顺从听话的仁文也不再能将她忍受；但也是水莲体人顾家的开始。。Marple is extremely proud when she is appointed to the board of trustees of a merchant marine training vessel whose mission is to rehabilitate young criminals.
